This rifle was built with a percussion patent breech.  It has a well-fitting percussion lock that is likely a replacement for the original lock.  The barrel is 43 1\/2&#8243; long, is deeply rifled, and retains the original muzzle decoration.  It has a two piece patchbox engraved in Stoffel Long\u2019s distinctive style.
