This contemporary Hawken-style rifle was built
for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Nearly 23 feet of sterling
silver wire inlay was used to establish the theme of the rifle. The
highly figured piece of curly maple was stained dark to better accentuate
the silver wire inlay. The R.M.E.F. logo was scrimshawed into the
bone and inlayed into the cheekpiece. The trigger guard was pierced
completely through and engraved to display a bugleing bull elk. |
